The Angasi Oyster Hatchery
A fun, interactive but sturdily portable educational kit designed and produced for the Queenscliff Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre to introduce the importance of shellfish reefs and oysters in the oceanic ecosystem.
Inspired by the drawer-like enclosures which oysters are bred in, the kit presents itself as an interactive oyster hatchery which focuses on the native angasi oyster - a species which has made a return after almost being harvested to extinction.
The colourful drawer set is paired with sturdy vinyl printed cards to cater to their wide age demographic and environmental setting, including classrooms and educational festivals.
